Charlie Lawrence is riding on October 20, 2007 at Death Valley.
Hello! This year, I'll be taking part in JDRF's Ride to Cure Diabetes in Death Valley, along with my son Chad and hundreds of other Riders across the country, as we try to reach our goal of raising $3.2 million.
We have completed the 105 mile ride 4 times; in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005; taking a break in 2006. But we are back again - looking to raise $4,000 (a total of $8,000 together as Team Chad & Dad).
Why? Well the answer is simple - we want a cure for diabetes; a cure for Chad and a cure for his sister Melissa as well as the millions of others who have to deal with this insidious disease. Type 1, or juvenile, diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people - a large and growing percentage of them are children.
There is some good news, though. For the first time, scientists are predicting that we CAN expect to see a cure well within our lifetime!
Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible? Together, we can make the cure a reality!
Please donate today.
