Hello! This year, we will be taking part in JDRF's Ride to Cure Diabetes in Death Valley, along with hundreds of other Riders from across the country, as we raise funds for the artificial pancreas project.

Since our 10 year old daughter, Grace, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes 4 years ago, she has been poked with approx. 14,800 needles to test her blood and injected with thousands of other needles to give her the insulin that her pancreas cannot provide.

This is why we are riding! Oct. 16, 2010 is the day we ride 100 miles through Death Valley. Our goal is to raise 4.5 million for the final development of an artificial pancreas. It is already in process and is being tested... amazing!

Type 1 is a nasty disease, but especially for Gracie. The younger the person is when diagnosed, the greater the risk of devastating consequences such as organ failure and/or blindness... This is urgent.

Thank you to Dave Munson of Saddleback Leather for supporting this cause! Dave is my brother and Grace's uncle. Any donation made to JDRF will receive a cool Saddleback Leather bracelet designed and stamped exclusively for this JDRF cause. Simply push the Donate Now button and you are on your way.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. This could change many lives.
